Administrative assistants take care of all the commercial, administrative and organizational activities within a company. You ensure that the flows of information and lines of communication within the company run smoothly and you are responsible for a variety of tasks including scheduling appointments, ordering materials and communicating with applicants, employees and customers.

Insights into the tasks of office administrators

At Leadec, office administrators work at the Kirchseeon/Munich, Hanover, Wolfsburg, Braunschweig and Ingolstadt locations, among others. They take care of all administrative and organizational activities from human resources management and accounting to IT and personal assistance. This is my second training program here, so I am in quite a good position to compare. At the beginning, you are shown the new department, the programs are explained and the processes are demonstrated. You are trained well and, of course, can ask questions at any time. It never gets boring.

“I can get to know different fields and see what I enjoy and what I am good at. I like that I can learn something from them all (finance, HR, etc.). You develop personally, learn how to organize yourself and are already given responsibility for certain tasks early on. You don’t need to worry about getting bored in this job. For me, the variety in the training comes from spending time in different departments. Other trainees stay in one area but learn about it in greater depth. Both are exciting. After my training, I will also become a specialist in a particular field and will always have to keep up with the latest developments, comply with new regulations, learn new software programs and so on.”


Your tasks

  • You will learn office procedures and business processes – from obtaining quotes to invoicing and monitoring payments
  • You will gain extensive insights into the fields of human resources, accounting, IT, personal assistance and secretarial services
  • You will take on tasks in marketing and sales
  • In the field of business management and controlling, you will have the opportunity to assist independently
  • You will, for example, handle correspondence, create presentations, schedule and monitor appointments and organize business trips
  • You will learn methods for optimal office management and modern IT systems and apply them; in doing so, you will use the latest IT systems and special application software
  • You will have the opportunity to actively participate in projects from the very start

Requirements

  • Mittlere Reife or Hochschulreife (general certificate of secondary education or university entrance qualification)
  • Interest in office work
  • Good understanding of figures
