show pageLeadec has been active in Debrecen since 2023 and supported the construction of the plant until production began in September 2025. Since then, the company has been providing services to ensure stable production operations. The BMW iX3 is the first vehicle in the New Class to be produced in series at the plant. The Debrecen plant is also the BMW Group's first production site to operate entirely without fossil fuels. Technical services for high-tech production “The requirements for technical services are particularly high in this innovative production environment. We are therefore even more delighted that we were able to convince with our technical expertise and continue the trusting cooperation,” says Ferenc Dákai, Managing Director of Leadec Hungary. The scope of services has been gradually expanded since 2023 – from infrastructural facility management and internal logistics to the technical cleaning of more than 150,000 square meters of production space with several hundred robots, as well as the takeover of technical facility management (TFM). Expanded contract for TFM and maintenance At the beginning of 2026, these services were expanded once again: 40 additional technical employees joined the 120-strong Leadec team on site. They work in the areas of logistics, assembly, pressing, laboratory, and car body construction and are responsible for technical equipment such as doors, gates, lighting, and power supply, among other things. The maintenance of production-related systems, including gas pipes, ATEX exhaust air systems, conveyor technology, automated guided vehicles (AGVs), and welding technology, as well as spare parts logistics for the final assembly building, were also newly taken on. Strong team for 24/7 operation at the Debrecen plant The services are provided in 24/7 shift operation, enabling the Leadec team to monitor the systems at all times and intervene immediately in the event of a malfunction. This allows synergies between the two areas of technical facility management and production maintenance to come into play. Leadec Kft. has been present in Hungary since 1994. Today, the Hungarian market leader for industrial services employs more than 1,000 people and operates in 12 cities: Győr, Kecskemét, Szentgotthárd, Cegléd, Szeged, Makó, Szombathely, Debrecen, Budapest, Hatvan, Miskolc and Maklár.
show pageHow Waste is Turned Into a Digital Data Stream With the solution "Digital Waste Tracking" (DWT) developed by Leadec, waste is digitally recorded and tracked at two sites of an OEM. Following a successful pilot project, the system entered regular operation in 2024. And most recently, everything has been running on Leadec’s own Industrial Cloud. In the first half of 2024, the solution based on the pilot project was rolled out at both sites. More than 6,000 waste containers and their locations were recorded and equipped with barcodes. These barcodes contain information such as container type - for instance, 1.1 m³ or 240 liters in volume - and the tare weight. Full containers are transported via electric carts over a scale, where they are weighed and scanned. This enables precise tracking of waste types and waste flows. “We gradually integrated the buildings into the solution, and since mid-2024, regular operations have been running smoothly . The Digital Waste criteria have even been added to the quality matrix that the customer uses to assess our performance,” explains Terence Gudat, Project Manager in the Smart Factory Group at Leadec. A new home: The Leadec Industrial Cloud At the end of March, the DWT solution was migrated to the Leadec Industrial Cloud. This cloud not only offers greater transparency in terms of capacity utilization and costs. Since it is managed entirely in-house, it also enables “faster response times and better application availability for our customers and ourselves,” says Terence Gudat. Focus on scalability The customer’s vision is to record all material flows via the DWT solution by the end of 2026 - including those that Leadec is not directly responsible for. One example is mixed scrap. The Smart Factory Group has already developed a concept for how integration into the system can be achieved. A prerequisite for this is that all containers are properly marked so that their origin and weight are recorded. They are then delivered to the waste management center, picked up by Leadec using forklifts, weighed, and unloaded into designated bins. “In principle, we can capture and analyze all material flows. The Leadec Industrial Cloud gives us a better support structure and allows us to scale the solution more easily,” the project manager adds. Clear benefits The advantages are obvious: Digital Waste Tracking not only provides better transparency over waste flows, increases recycling rates, and reduces costs. It also helps meet key regulatory requirements such as sustainability reporting and supports ESG strategies defined in the context of the EU Green Deal. For example, users can easily demonstrate which residual materials are generated in the plant and where they originate. And by combining on-site services with digital solutions, Leadec creates real added value for its customers. More projects on the Leadec Industrial Cloud The Leadec Industrial Cloud marks an important milestone for the company, as it enables seamless digital solutions. In addition to Digital Waste Tracking, the in-house cloud is also used for the asset documentation app, LARA 2.0 . You may also be interested in the following articles:
show pageThe Leadec Group's sales increased by 6% to over EUR 1.3 billion in the 2024 fiscal year. In addition to North America, growth in Eastern Europe and Southwest Europe was particularly positive. With the new companies in Spain and Portugal, the company was able to significantly expand its market presence. "Thanks to our consistent strategy, Leadec once again increased its sales in 2024. Success factors include diversification into new sectors, following our customers into new markets, strengthening our technical service portfolio and the continuous development of our organization. Our operational excellence program, digital solutions, lean structures and a strong operational focus ensure a high level of efficiency," says Markus Glaser-Gallion, CEO of the Leadec Group. Continued diversification Leadec provides numerous services for the automotive industry. Electromobility and battery production are opening up new fields for the service specialist. Over 40 percent of turnover now comes from other sectors such as machine and systems engineering or consumer goods. Activities in the area of parcel and warehouse distribution centers are developing particularly dynamically with new customers and orders. These are automation projects that will run well into 2026. Leadec also supports its customers with on-site services, for example in 21 Mercado Livre distribution centers in Brazil. Internal logistics services such as waste disposal and spare parts management are also becoming increasingly important for customers in other sectors. Sustainable, digital and safe With its "Green Factory Solutions", Leadec supports its customers in reducing CO₂ emissions and promoting the circular economy. In 2024, more than 100 million euros were generated with these solutions for the first time. They include the optimization of energy management in factories, installation of photovoltaic systems, EV charging stations, intelligent lighting systems as well as smart waste management, repair and remanufacturing of high-voltage batteries. In addition to sustainability, digitalization plays a key role in Leadec's business success. The digital platform Leadec.os enables the end-to-end capture of processes and offers maximum transparency. It is currently implemented in eleven countries and is used by over 2,100 users every day. It is complemented by the proprietary "Leadec Industrial Cloud", which supports the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and large language models (LLMs). This enables cost-efficient scaling of existing and new digital services. Occupational safety remains a key priority, which is being continuously addressed through the group-wide "Safety - it's your life" initiative. With a Lost Time Injury Rate (LTI rate) of 1.0, Leadec recorded the lowest accident frequency in its history in 2024. For every million hours worked, there was only one accident resulting in at least one day's absence. Well positioned for the future "We are optimistic about the 2025 fiscal year, in which we want to further strengthen our position. Back in January, we acquired Servycat in Spain, a company specializing in technical services for the food industry. We are continuing our digitalization course at full speed and are investing systematically in the training and development of our employees," says Markus Glaser-Gallion confidently.
show pageDespite the challenging market conditions, the Leadec Group increased its sales by more than five percent on a currency-adjusted basis to over 1.35 billion euros in fiscal year 2025. Consistent cost management, the continuous expansion of digitalization, and comprehensive productivity programs contributed significantly to this positive performance. “In 2025, we succeeded in expanding our share of sales in new customer segments, such as industrial technologies or distribution and warehousing. At the same time, the automotive industry remains an important core market to which we contribute our many years of experience, technical skills and expertise. Going forward, we anticipate growing demand for outsourcing in this area—both from new market participants from China and from European manufacturers who are continuing to increase the flexibility of their value chain structures,” says Markus Glaser-Gallion, CEO of the Leadec Group. Europe and the Americas ensure stable sales In the core European market, Leadec’s sales were slightly above the previous year’s level. Strong business in Eastern Europe and the companies acquired in Spain in 2025 contributed significantly to this. Business performance in the Americas was outstanding, with particularly strong results achieved in the U.S. and Brazil. The picture in Asia was mixed: While business in India showed promising development in 2025, the market in China remains challenging. “Our multi-regional presence is a key factor in our company’s stability and resilience. Operating in 16 countries and across various industries allows us to effectively mitigate fluctuations in individual markets,” explains Markus Glaser-Gallion. Focus: sustainability and occupational safety With its “Green Factory Solutions,” Leadec supports its customers in achieving their environmental and climate goals. These include, among other things, the optimization of energy management in factories, the installation of battery storage systems, photovoltaic systems, EV charging stations, smart lighting systems, and waste management. These solutions for decarbonization and the circular economy have gained further importance, generating sales of around 140 million euros for the company. The Gold rating from Ecovadis confirms that Leadec ranks among the top two percent of companies in its industry and the top five percent of companies worldwide in terms of sustainability. As part of our group-wide initiative “Safety – It’s your life!”, around 200 occupational safety specialists and more than 400 local safety coordinators work every day to make our workplaces safer. This includes over 44,000 safety inspections and more than 6,400 hazard assessments each year. These efforts are paying off: the LTI rate has dropped to a historic low of 0.7 (number of lost-time injuries per million hours worked). Digital solutions for efficient processes For Leadec, digitalization is a key driver of further development, as it enables the scaling of experiences from over 900 factories. At the heart of the digital infrastructure is the Leadec.os platform: It records end-to-end processes and integrates digital services. It is in use across all 16 countries and is utilized daily by more than 2,400 employees. The operational insights derived from this data form the basis for data-driven optimizations and new digital solutions. “We develop IIoT- and AI-based applications that help our customers organize their production processes more efficiently, reduce downtime, and optimize maintenance processes. In 2026, we are focusing on what we do best and what distinguishes us: close customer relations, strong innovative capacity and operational excellence,” says Markus Glaser-Gallion.

This places us in the top 5 % of all companies worldwide in the ranking and in the top 2% of all companies within the electrical, plumbing and other construction installation activities sector. Further details about our EcoVadis rating "Negligible Risk" rated by Sustainalytics The rating agency Sustainalytics rated Leadec's risk of significant financial impact from ESG factors as negligible with 8.4 points on a scale up to 100. In a global comparison, this places Leadec in rank 109 out of 15489. Leadec ranks 3rd percentile in global universe, 15th in commercial services and 2nd in business and support. The rating result of Sustainalytics takes into account the ESG risks that Leadec faces as a service specialist for the factory on the one hand and how the company deals with them on the other hand. Sustainalytics looks at ESG indicators from the following eight areas: Corporate Governance, Human Capital, Data Privacy and Security, Bribery and Corruption, Emissions, Effluents and Waste, Product Governance, Carbon (own operations), and Occupational Health & Safety. One example of such a key performance indicator is the ecological footprint, which Sustainalytics also evaluates: In the area of CO2 emissions, Leadec makes a contribution, among other things, through a growing share of electricity from renewable energies, a simultaneous reduction in CO2 emissions and the use of environmentally compatible cleaning agents. Leadec reports to the CDP The not-for-profit organization "CDP" (formerly: Carbon Disclosure Project) supports companies, cities, states, and regions in their efforts to determine and manage risks as well as opportunities related to climate change, water, and deforestation. Leadec fulfilled CDP questionnaire in September 2025 and received the Climate Change score “B” (Management level) as well as the Supplier Engagement Assessment (SEA) score “B-“ in February 2026. The annual CDP reporting reflects the structured management of our climate ambitions and our commitment to transparency, continuous improvement, and meaningful environmental action. More Committment to SBTi The Paris Climate Agreement, which was signed by almost all countries in the world in 2015, has an ambitious goal: global warming is to be limited to a maximum of 1.5 degrees Celsius. In order to achieve this, corresponding national targets have been set. Leadec has committed to the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) to ensure compliance with new climate related reporting obligations set by the countries. The decision to join the science-based standards of the SBTi not only set targets in line with latest climate related regulation, but also to provide clear guidance on how to decarbonize the own operations.
